Q: You talked about worthiness in your interview with Oprah Winfrey for her “Super Soul Sunday” series in 2013. To me it means no matter what, you’re deserving of regard and respect. I loved it because it encompasses so much. For a while it was “empowerment.” At one point “authenticity” was my favorite word and so was “resilient.” About 2012, “worthy” became my favorite word. Q: How did your latest album, “Worthy,” come about?Ī: I naturally have a favorite word, and it changes just as my life changes.
